They are in malls across China, but government regulators say their products routinely fail to meet quality standards.

The Beijing Municipal Industry and Commerce Bureau singled out two major clothing brands for violating governmental standards: H&M and UNIQLO.

H&M was cited for the third straight year, with regulators saying products sold at the store tend to lose their coloring faster than normal. Since 2012, H&M has had 30 products deemed not up to standard.

Meanwhile UNIQLO has been fined nearly one million yuan after it was discovered to have continued to sell products judged by government regulators as being inferior.
