A 24 year-old Shenzhen woman has given birth despite claiming she has never had sex.

Lin Shuping said she first realized she was pregnant when she was about to give birth. Lin gave birth to a healthy two kilogram baby girl after she fainted and was rushed to the No. 2 People’s Hospital.

Lin says she has no boyfriend, and has never been touched by a man. When asked where the baby came from, Lin said, “I don’t know.” She said her last period was in December of last year.

Lin has not yet applied for a birth certificate for her baby, and has admitted she doesn’t want the baby because she is unable to care for it.

The hospital is trying to reach Lin’s family in Pingle, Guangxi because she is unable to pay for her hospital bills. A fund has been created in her name.

Decked out in their black SWAT outfits and equipped with automatic rifles, an entire squad of elite police officers were sent into the woods to deal with the menacing boars. In all, four were captured and killed.

The captured boars were transferred to the care of the provincial agricultural ministry. It would appear this SWAT team always gets their ham.

A spectacular traffic accident on Tuesday saw a tractor trailer dangling precariously 30 meters off the ground near a broken guardrail. The incident happened on the Shanghai-Kunming Highway, stranding two people in the cab that were later successfully rescued.

It’s a phenomenal sight that you’d expect from a scene in a movie. But, as it turns out, it also happened in September this year, when a tractor trailer carrying a full load of new cars unexpectedly crashed into a guardrail on the Beijing-Hong Kong Highway, stranding its driver as the cab was suspended some 150 meters in mid-air (shown below).

But this spectacle isn’t limited to these two incidents. Instead, guardrails have failed to stop vehicle collisions in China a number of times, causing the vehicle to jut out over into a yawning precipice.

Here then is a short history of vehicles dangling over an edge after breaking through a guardrail:

And there was the time a police vehicle in Shandong managed to get itself stuck in mid-air, wedged between two buildings after breaking through a guardrail.

That these types of incidents continue to happen may be shocking to our readers, to which we can only advise them to keep their guard up.

As it turns out, Xinhua reported that nothing about the Tyranosaurus Rex costume was in violation of subway protocols. The photographer said the person in the suit was allowed to pass through the subway’s security checkpoint because he wasn’t carrying any prohibited items.

But it’s all the same to residents in the big city: as you can see in the photos, no one seems to have been fazed by seeing a Tyranosaurus Rex just trying to go about his day.tyranosaurus-rex-beijing-metro

Another case of mistreating a giant panda at a Chinese zoo happened last week when a man jumped into an enclosure at the Nanjing Zoo in Jiangxi last Thursday, only to be wrestled to the ground by its grumpy occupant.

The 12 year-old male panda, named Meiling, grabbed onto the man’s leg after being awakened. As seen in the zoo surveillance footage, Meiling wrestled the man down and did not let him go for around five minutes.

The man was finally able to remove his leg from the grasp of the 200-kilogram bear after it turned over on its back.

Deputy director of the Nanjing Zoo Kuang Huaming told a press conference on Sunday that Meiling was given a thorough examination on Sunday, and found to have suffered no injuries from the incident.

Witnesses say the man only suffered a ripped pant leg from his encounter, and is said to have immediately left the scene. He was reportedly trying to impress two girls by petting the panda.

This past October, a number of Chinese zoo have come under public scrutiny for poor handling of their giant pandas, a nationally protected and beloved animal in China.

Netizens called for the Lanzhou Zoo to be stripped of its right to host a giant panda after one was spotted with a blood stain on its back, prompting suspicion of abuse. Earlier in the month, a public outcry was raised when photos show a panda at the Shanxi Zoo eating garbage thrown to it by zoo visitors.

Giant Pandas are treated no less than a “national treasure” in China where conservation efforts have recently succeeded in having it removed from a list of endangered species.

An app called Tangdou (Sweet Bean) has become the darling of Chinese tech circles by securing $15 million in its second round of financing. But unlike social networking giants like Tinder and Grindr, China’s very own killer app has a different reason for bringing people together: public square dancing.

The app provides free dancing tutorials for beginners, live streaming services, and well as a communication platform that allows users to connect with each other. Dancing groups can post information of their get-togethers, thereby inviting new members to join.

However, what has caught the most attention isn’t the app itself, but its users. As Tangdou explains, practitioners of public square dancing are usually women between 30 to 55 years of age who live in second and third tier cities. Given the name dama (大妈), these women are especially noteworthy because they are commonly in charge of their household budgets, and are charged with making family decisions on travel and leisure. In the past, dama have demonstrated their economical clout through gold and real estate buying sprees.

Through its app, Tangdou is able to reach some 80 to 100 million dama estimated to be public square dancing fans. And they’re already being targeted. On the Tangdou website that received 2.5 million visitors in September, users are innundated with a number of advertisements, currently the company’s biggest source of revenue. Tangdou has said it wants to offer e-commerce services to its clients in the future.

Public square dancing is a modern Chinese phenomenon inseparably associated with crowds of people in open squares dancing in unison to loud amplified music. Part exercise and part performance, the basic concept of public square dancing is to be simple enough to allow anyone to perform it, but is structured enough to serve as a display of grace and elegance.

Often referred to as “dancing aunties” or “dancing grannies”, these public square dancing dama have been involved in numerous conflicts over their hobby. At the same time, Mayor of Sydney Clover Moore publicy said she want to import this facet of China’s urban culture to Australia, prompting cries of ridicule from Chinese netizens.

Here’s a video of public square dancing from the Tangdou website:

Inside the room, a Mr Lei refused to be quiet, and the crowd attacked. After Lei put his pants on, the confrontation spilled out into the lobby.

Lei sustained injuries to his head, shoulders, and hands. Police determined three people were responsible for his injuries, and after a round of consultation, the attackers agreed to compensate Lei 15,000 yuan for his trouble.

After years of allowing its cafeteria area to serve as a “dating scene” for local retirees, Shanghai IKEA is shutting down the party with new rules to restrict seniors from socializing at its store.

New rules implemented October 5 at the Xujiahui-based store say customers must first purchase food before entering the dining area and they aren’t allowed to bring in food from elsewhere either.

Store personnel are patrolling the dining area, which has been cordoned off.

Single Shanghai retirees have been converging at IKEA as a place to socialize and possibly meet a new marriage partner. However, participants of the twice-weekly meeting have attracted controversy for talking too loudly and taking away seating from paying customers. Fracases have also broken out throughout the history of the social gatherings.

Shanghai IKEA had previously attempted to control the social fraternity in 2011 by limiting the retirees to a corner of the cafeteria, but was ultimately unsuccessful.

Zhang Xiaofang, 63, told Shanghai Daily that the IKEA meetings are important because it had been too difficult to meet people since her husband died 15 years ago. “I come here mainly to meet and talk with other elderly people. We are very lonely and there are not many places for us to meet new friends,” said Zhang.

So far, the retirees have attempted to circumvent the rules by purchasing the cheapest food item in the IKEA restaurant, priced around 10 yuan, while 60 others converged around tables outside the eating area. No such policy has been instituted at Beijing IKEA branches, mainly because the social gatherings have been strictly a Shanghai phenomenon.

IKEA stores in China have been notable for becoming hangouts for Chinese customers. An open customer policy has resulted in a phenomenon whereby Chinese visitors to IKEA come and sleep in their beds and sofas.

Glass is the hottest trend right now in the Chinese tourism industry, seen everywhere from glass bridges to glass-bottomed walkways. But while those facilities give visitors another perspective to China’s breathtaking scenery, a new tourist attraction in Hunan allows tourists to peep at each other in a newly installed glass bathroom.

The public bathrooms at Shiyan Lake near Changsha are made entirely of glass, allowing very clear views into a bathroom cubical. And if you’re wondering how the restrooms are divided for each gender, the answer is again a pane of glass. That means men and women can peep at each other easily.

A public bathroom at a university in Hunan attracted attention earlier this month with its own window, giving everyone outside a clear view. However, where that may have been a design flaw, Shiyan Lake has purposely designed this voyeur’s delight as a way to attract visitors.

Previous promotions to drum up attention at Shiyan Lake includes last year’s yoga and dance performance held on the water’s surface (shown below).

With glass so popular among Chinese tourist sites right now, it’s likely that the Shiyan Lake glass restroom will draw curious crowds of onlookers.

A woman infatuated with a member of a rock climbing team has expressed her love by defacing the side of a cliff with his face.

A six to seven meter-high colored portrait now adorns the 218 meter-high Fanzheng Rock located in the Shenxianju scenic area in Xianju, Zhejiang.

A 37 year-old woman named Lingling (a pseudonym) spent the weekends over a two month period making the portrait of a 40 year-old Chen Kang (also a pseudonym). Lingling met Chen during local climbing events.

A Shenxiaju representative said the portrait cannot be viewed from the ground, but only by other rock climbers.

A Xianju rock climbing member named Wang was impressed with Lingling’s outpouring of love. “(She) didn’t expect it to be found so soon,” he said. “It was surely inappropriate to doodle on a scenic spot, but I was still moved by her courage to express true love.”

Lingling said she would remove her handi-work from the rock face as soon as possible.

Earlier this month, an elderly man was caught defacing the side of a Beijing mountain with his name in red paint.
