A Hong Kong customs officer has been found dead from a gunshot wound at Hong Kong International Airport this afternoon.
Witnesses said they heard a gunshot at around 1pm today coming from inside the change room at the air cargo terminal.
The male customs officer, still in uniform, was found to have suffered a gunshot wound to the left side of his head with a gun next to the body. The man is said to have entered the change room alone. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. No suicide note was found.
If this is indeed a suicide, it would be the third case of a government official shooting himself in a suicide or attempted suicide in Hong Kong over the past month.
Police are investigating and we will update this story when we get new details.
