Chinese tourists have fostered an international reputation for misbehaving, but they’re not just getting along with airline staff and locals. Now, it seems like they’re not getting along with each other, either.

A fight broke out between two Chinese tourists queuing at Narita Airport in Tokyo on February 12. The incident began when a trolley belonging to 42 year-old Peng Jing, a director of a Chinese construction company, bumped the trolley of another Chinese female tourist, aged 46.

The fight culminated with Peng slapping the other woman, causing injury to her lip. Peng ran away, but was caught by airport police when she tried to board her flight.

Peng said she hit the woman as a result of “a short moment of impulsiveness.”

Chinese tourism to Japan has doubled over the past year as mainland tourists take advantage of a depreciated yen and favorable visa policies. However, the rising number of Chinese tourists have also resulted in a number of incidents resulting in police action, like when a Chinese man cross-dressed in order to access the women’s-only area at an upscale spa, or when a Chinese couple on their honeymoon assaulted a store clerk who objected to their eating on store premises.
