With parts of the city closed down yesterday, Beijing held its first rehearsals for the upcoming September 3rd military parade. And with residents looking on, many military vehicles were seen throughout the city.

The preparations have been caught on camera by the media and from ordinary netizens posting their photos online. Particularly attention-grabbing yesterday was the “70” helicopter formation, signifying the 70th Anniversary of the Victory over the War of Japanese Aggression:
