We’ve heard stories about the heroic bush humpers of Xiaoguwei Island, home to Guangzhou University City, and we would have followed through with a plan to open a chain of love motels for students there, but it seems campus police beat us to the punch.

Not with a better business plan, though, and not even uniformed police, but plainclothes night patrollers who, according to Guangzhou Daily, recently began swarming ‘busy’ areas around the island following a rash of complaints. According to the newspaper, the lake at the center of University City has the best unlit locations for late-night lovemaking, a fact which might interest you if, like us, you’ve ever sat back on the grass there during the daytime.
