Start-up weekend set for November 9-11 in Shenzhen
Posted: 11/5/2012 7:00 amIf you want to learn about entrepreneurship or network with businesspeople, there is only one place to be in Shenzhen this weekend.
After the Guangzhou Startup Weekend took place in June, Shenzhen is now set to host on from Friday to Sunday November 9-11. The Friday evening session will take place in the auditorium in the Tencent Building, whereas the Saturday and Sunday events will take place at the Qidian cafe.
According to the official website of Startup Weekend, anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from peers and business experts. Last year, some members of Startup Weekend organized the Shenzhen Team, in which entrepreneurs gathered to pitch ideas in Nanshan District.
Startup Weekend is headquartered in Seattle in the United States, and it organizes similar events around the world.
Michael Michelini, a New Yorker, has been working round the clock to organize the event. Judging by what’s written on the website, it is not for the faint-hearted:
Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation.
