Luz Casal, the glamorous pop singer from Spain, will present a lavish show with her troupe on May 10 in Guangzhou Opera House. According to the report from Yangcheng Evening News, Luz will perform her hits such as Pedazo de Cielo, Mar Y Cielo and Piensa en Mi in movie Tacones lejanos.

Luz Casal was born in a small town in Spain. The singer, one of the leading-lights in Spanish-language music, had her break in 1980 and since then she has had phenomenal success with her 1989 album Luz V selling 30 million copies, 1991′s Contraluz selling 40 million and Prometida in 1995 which sold more than 80 million, giving her a global reputation.

She has also recorded songs for Oscar-winning films, such as Piensa En Mi for the film Tacones lejanos.

During her long career, Luz has received just about every musical honour in Spain. She became the embassador of arts to western Europe and Latin America, strengthening Spain’s international relations through culture.

Le Figaro said “she will always be the senhora of Spanish pop culture, a powerhouse, a real Spanish and South American vocalist, blessed with oodles of charisma”.

Other hot shows such as Swan Lake by Ballet National de Cuba, Mark Morris Dance Group from New York, world class cellist Mischa Maisky’s cello recital and Correr o Fado by Qurorum Ballet are right on schedule in May.
