NBA Star LeBron James Swings By Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Beijing
Posted: 07/23/2014 3:47 pmLeBron James began his tour of China on Monday that will see the NBA basketball star make stops in several cities including Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and the Taiwanese cities of Kaohsiung and Taipei.
But James’ first stop was in the capital, where he met celebrity pianist and showman Lang Lang in a meeting in front of a audience at the Wukesong Sports Center. The two exchanged gifts and played a duet on the piano together.
James (apparently) said the following, although this is a translation from Chinese:
I am very honored to meet master Lang Lang today. He is very passionate! It is through our individual unceasing efforts that we have finally achieved our accomplishments today! Today is the first time that I have ever played the piano, and with master Lang Lang at my side, it has simply been a moving experience for me! This October, I will go see Lang Lang perform in concert in Cleveland, and am looking forward to it!
King James’ stop in Guangzhou on Tuesday was no less eventful despite not being accompanied by a Chinese celebrity. James attended store appearances and performed for audiences at an indoor stadium.
