Dongguan’s only H7N9 patient discharged from hospital
Posted: 11/15/2013 7:00 amThe three year-old boy who became the first person in Dongguan to be diagnosed with H7N9 on November 5 has now recovered and been discharged from hospital, according to the Dongguan Municipal Health Bureau.
The toddler had been kept in quarantine at the Dongguan City People’s Hospital before making a full recovery, Guangzhou Daily reported yesterday.
Sixty-three people who had been in contact with the boy were also taken in for examination but none proved to be infected.

It’s the third H7N9 case reported in China this fall, following cases in Zhejiang Province on Oct. 15 and 23, according to Xinhua.
China reported 134 cases by the end of August, with 45 fatalities, according to the National Health and Family Planning Commission.
The virus now appears to be under control.
