Deposit with 21 tons of gold discovered in western Guangdong
Posted: 08/27/2013 2:00 pmThe Guangdong Geological Bureau announced on August 26 that it had discovered the province’s 3rd large gold deposit, which boasts up to 21 tons of gold reserves and is located in the western part of the province, Yangcheng Evening News reports.
The discovery near Qingyuan is the fruit of eight years of labour. The reserve, around 800 metres in length and 500 metres in depth is worth billions of dollars and will generate healthy activity in the local economy for years to come.
Gold deposits are spread throughout the country. Although there are numerous types, only a very small number of large and superlarge ones have been found in China, according to China Mining, making Guangdong a bit special.
