Brawl in Humen involving guns and machetes leaves 1 dead, 10 injured
Posted: 07/9/2013 9:00 amOne person is dead and 10 are injured after a brawl in which shots were fired in a car park in Dongguan’s Humen Village early on Monday morning, Nanfang Daily reports.
Mrs. Liu, a sanitation worker at one of the nearby restaurants said she thought a tire had burst but when there were more shots she turned around and saw the fight in the car park of Club 18 on Bar Street.
According to police, at around 6:36 a.m., two men got into a fist fight in the car park and both sent for their friends to come and help. By the end, there were at least 20 people involved.
Ah Song, a security guard from a nearby bar said it was like witnessing something from a movie. By the time the gangs were engaged in a stand-off, one side had 7 or 8 guys wielding machetes while on the other side, two men had gone to their cars to get guns.
One of the men who had a gun, fired into the crowd of machete-wielding men and got one of them in the head. As he lay bleeding he shot into the crowd two more times before fleeing.
The man who died was identified as 31 year-old Mr Jin. Police want to know why he was taken to a hospital in neighbouring Chang’an Village instead of a nearby one in Humen.
